I want my Daikin Altherma 3 to run when there is surplus solar energy or cheap grid electricity. With Loxone, I want to control when it heats the house and when it heats the water for showers.

For a personal website, I wanted the content to remain portable and easy to maintain. Hugo turns Markdown and templates into plain static files, so the deployed website does not need a database, server-side runtime, or continuous security updates for a CMS.

A home energy system becomes interesting when each device is individually smart but the house still needs one coherent strategy. This project explores how to coordinate solar generation, a home battery, EV charging, hot-water production, heating or cooling, and variable electricity prices.

Reliable embedded system design

Embedded software is easier to maintain when modules have clear ownership, narrow interfaces, and explicit failure behaviour. I use abstract data types and composition to bring useful object-oriented design ideas into C without hiding resource use or control flow.

Woodworking and home projects

Making furniture is a useful counterbalance to abstract technical work. Material dimensions, joinery, tolerances, assembly order, and finish all force decisions to become physical.

Projects include custom furniture, storage, lighting details, and practical improvements around the house. I document the design intent, constraints, build sequence, mistakes, and changes I would make next time.
